NORWAY — Norway Memorial Library is inviting everyone to experience the culture of India in a Thursday evening summer-long reading series. All programs will begin at 6:30 p.m. The series will kick-off June 25 with the library showing a film of modern-day India, family, love and life.
The library will discuss “Midnight’s Children” by Salman Rushdie on July 2, “The God of Small Things” by Arundhati Roy on July 23 and “Homeless Bird” by Gloria Whelan on August 6.
Concluding the Destination India series on August 13, musician David Pontbriand will perform North Indian classical music on sitar, followed by a Q & A discussion of Indian music, instruments, and traditions.
