RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial for James D. Riordan of Westbrook and formerly of Rumford for many years was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church, 126 Maine Avenue, Rumford, with the Rev. Greg Dube as celebrant, and assisted by seminarian Matthew Gregory and altar assistant Bernard Poirier. Organist was Mark Belanger.
Music selections included “How Great Thou Art,” “Amazing Grace,” “Irish Blessing,” and “On Eagle’s Wings.” The first reading, from the Old Testament, was from the Book of Wisdom and pronounced by grandson, James O. Riordan. The second reading, from the New Testament, from a Letter of Paul to the Romans, was pronounced by a grandson-in-law, Benjamin Macisso. The Gifts were presented by daughters Judith Willette and Susan Starr.
Interment services were conducted by seminarian Matthew Gregory. Interment was at St. John Cemetery, Rumford. A reception followed at 49 Franklin Street.
