SARASOTA, Fla. — Martha Benoit, 97, of Mesa, Ariz., and Sarasota, Fla., passed away on Sunday, May 31, at the Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota, Fla.
She was born on April 24, 1918, in Eddystone, Pa., the daughter of George and Olympia Jacondi Hassis.
Martha was a homemaker and enjoyed skiing and golf. She won the Maine State Class B championship in 1972 and Norway Country Club Championship in 1973. She also had four holes-in-one on Arizona golf courses in the 1990s.
Martha belonged to the Martindale Country Club, Norway Country Club and the Sunland Village East Golf Course.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice Todd, and Wendy Callanan and son, Tom; grandson, Scott Benoit; and great-grandson, Garrett Benoit.
She is predeceased by her parents; five siblings; and her husband, Wil Benoit, in April.
