The no-repeat streak stayed alive in Oxford Plains Speedway’s top division Saturday night.

Scott Farrington of Minot rebounded from a wreck and a last-place finish a week ago to win the 50-lap Super Late Model feature. He is the sixth different winner in as many events this season.

Farrington made his winning move underneath reigning speedway champion T.J. Brackett midway through the event, denying Brackett his second victory of the season.

He then held off two of Oxford’s all-time greats in order to earn the victory. Jeff Taylor charged from 15th starting position to the runner-up slot, while Alan Wilson continued his strong start with a third-place run.

It was the first appearance of the season in weekly competition for Taylor, who owns a record nine championships at the track.

Scott Robbins of Dixfield and Auburn’s Kyle Treadwell rounded out the top five, with Treadwell making the move to that spot around Brackett on the final circuit.

Justin Gibbons and Farrington were heat race winners.

Zach Emerson of Sabattus picked his second victory of the season in the 30-lap main event for Allen’s Coffee Flavored Brandy Street Stocks.

Known as one of the most consistent drivers in the division throughout his career, Emerson had never previously won multiple features in one season. The result also padded his advantage in the Budweiser Championship Series standings.

Andrew Breton of Sabattus led early before settling for second. Calvin Rose Jr. of Turner was third, followed by Josh Childs of Oxford and Jordan Russell of Norway. Childs and Breton won the preliminaries.

Jacob Hall of Oxford led for the duration in the 20-lap Bandit division feature race. Dan Wade of New Gloucester pressured Hall and held off Jamie Heath for the runner-up spot. Leeds neighbors

Cam Childs and Kyle Hewins completed the top five. They also won the heats.

Ageless Jon Lizotte of Lewiston made it 3-for-3 in the resurrected Figure Eight division, lapping the field. Craig Moore and Mike St. Germain picked up the second and third-place trophies.

The Wicked Good Vintage Racers also made an appearance, with their classic cars split into two feature events, Hal Clark of Bridgton steered a 1965 Chevy II to victory in the Late Model & Modified segment ahead of Kevin Waterhouse of West Paris and Steve Reny. Bob Guyon of Monmouth cruised in the Outlaw portion, trailed by Bob Symonds of Casco and Freeport’s Neil Martin.

Smith aces endurance test for Beech Ridge Sport Series

The Budweiser 125 for the NASCAR Sport Series at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway was settled by about a foot at the end of that extended distance, with Craig Smith claiming the victory Saturday night.

Frank Wear was the other half of the drag race to the finish line. Ben Tinker took third.

Trevor Sanborn dominated the 50-lap Pro Series event. Nick Cusack was second, with Rusty Poland third.

Adam Lovejoy celebrated his first career victory in the 30-lap Wildcat scramble. Ryan Hewins of Leeds fell one spot shy of his second win.

Cugini’s visit to Wiscasset smashing success

The ultra-fast North East Midget Association made its second-annual appearance at Wiscasset Speedway, bringing two divisions to the coastal high-banks Saturday night.

It was nearly a clean sweep for Danny Cugini of Marshfield, Mass., who won the 30-lap NEMA Midget main and was second in the 25-lap companion event for NEMA Lites.

Scott Bigelow of East Hampton, Conn., picked up the Lites checkered flag.

Randy Cabral also went home with two trophies – second in Midgets, third in Lites. Seth Carlson rounded out the Midget podium, followed by Paul Scally and John Zych Jr. Bobby Santos III and Jim Cataldo completed the Lites top five.

Wiscasset also hosted its usual complement of weekly features. Phil Richardson ruled the 40-lap Pro Stock feature ahead of Jeff Burgess, Andy Saunders, Ajay Picard and Wyatt Alexander.

Kamren Knowles took top honors in New England Four-Cylinder Pro Stock action. John Shorey and Ryan Hayes were second and third in the 25-lap affair, followed by Lisbon’s Jeff Prindall.

Josh Bailey showed the way in NAPA Super Street action. Adam Chadbourne crossed the line second at the end of the 25-lapper, trailed by Jason Curtis, Zac Poland and Tasha Dyer.

Ryan Chadwick drove off with another Thunder 4 victory. Cody Tribbet was second with Michael Harrison, Leandra Martin and Curtis Anderson giving chase.
