1925 – 2015

WATERVILLE — Yvette B. Hatch Maillett, 90, a former resident of Livermore, passed away Wednesday, June 17, at her home at Park Residences in Waterville. She was surrounded with love from friends and family.

She was born June 12, 1925, in Jay, the daughter of Joseph Therrien and Laura (Guerin) Therrien. Yvette attended school in Jay. She was married to Robert H. Hatch from 1945 to 1986 and they had three children. Robert passed away in 1986. She and Robert were longtime residents of Rumford. They were both active in the Mechanics Institute and skiing communities.

She later was married to Noel Maillett, from 1989 to 2005. He passed away in 2005.

Yvette was a devoted wife and mother, and took great pride caring for her family and home. Over the years, she also worked in several different places: Bath Iron Works Shipyard during World War II, shoe shops, retail and paper mills.

She was a communicant of Saint Rose of Lima in Jay and former member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Yvette enjoyed knitting, crocheting, leather-tooling, card and board games. With her husband, Robert, she enjoyed square and round dancing, skiing, bowling, hiking and fishing. She especially enjoyed summer weekends with family at Cozy Cove on Round Pond.

She was always happy to provide her highly acclaimed chocolate cake for family gatherings. She lived to love and feed her immediate and extended family. With her husband Noel, she enjoyed extensive travel throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Hatch and partner, Michael Osinski, of Lacey, Wash., and Russell Hatch of Waterville; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Laurencell of Newcastle; Noel’s children, Louise Zeigler and husband, David, of Maryland, James Maillett and wife, Margaret, of Maryland; brother, Francis “Red” Therrien and wife, Lou, of Livermore Falls; sister, Claire (Therrien) Parker and husband, Richard, of Livermore; five grandchildren, Liane, Abigail, Benjamin, William and Brady and her husband, Brendan; one great-granddaughter, Clodaugh; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Robert W. Hatch; husband, Robert H. Hatch; husband, Noel Maillett; brothers, Reney, Ronald, Norman, Roland and Leo Therrien; and sisters, Theo (Therrien) Gallant, Rita (Therrien) Labrecque and Jeannette (Therrien) Roy.
