1930 – 2015

AUBURN — Edward S. Wells Sr., 84, of Lewiston passed away at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn on Wednesday, June 17, with his family by his side.

He was born on Sept. 15, 1930, in Goffstown, N.H., the son of William A. Sr. and Theresa (Neimic) Wells. He worked many jobs in his life but the most important job was his service in the military, serving in the Korean War and World War II. His hobbies included puzzles, candle-making and building houses. He always loved dressing up as Santa Claus and making his children and grandchildren believe in Santa.

He is survived by nine children, Edward S. Wells Jr., Rockwell Wells, Rachel Pelletier, Ray Wells, Theresa Ouellette, Michael Wells, Paul Wells, Paula Wells, and Joseph Wells; a sister, Linda Floyd; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Edward was predeceased by his wife, Nancy; four siblings, William Wells Jr., Robert Wells, Johny Wells and Sophie Wells; and a great-grandchild, Elli Mathiu.

Dad, aka Santa Claus, will be missed by his family and friends.
