WISCASSET — Chewonki has created a new program called Hero Adaptations to teach summer readers about the amazing powers of bats, spiders and owls. The program was created to support the national Collaborative Summer Library Program theme Every Hero has a Story that many Maine libraries are promoting this summer.
Hero Adaptations will travel to libraries around the state this summer. Local visits include:
Thursday, July 2: Casco Library, 4:30 to 5 p.m.
Thursday, July 2: Naples Library, 7 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday, July 8: Harrison Village Library, 3 to 4 p.m.
Friday, July 10: Thomaston Public Library, 11 a.m. to noon
Tuesday, July 14: Ludden Memorial Library, Dixfield, 2 to 3 p.m.
Thursday, July 16: Treat Memorial Library, Livermore Falls, 6 to 7 p.m.
Friday, July 17: Gray Public Library, 2 to 3 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 3: Cary Memorial Library, Wayne, 6 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 5: Ellsworth Public Library, 6 to 7 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 7: Charlotte Hobbs Library, Lovell, 10 to 11 a.m.
Monday, Aug. 24: Readfield Community Library, 6 to 7 p.m.
