1948 – 2015

LEWISTON — James Lamb, 66, of Oxford, died Thursday, June 18, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Norway on December 30, 1948, the son of A. Sayward and Cynthia A. Allen Lamb. He received his degree from Northern Maine Community College at Presque Isle. He had been a draftsman at Oxford Homes and a plant manager at New England Homes. He had owned his own business, Home Menders, and later Parts and Pieces in Oxford since 1996. He was president of the Santa Visits Oxford group, a member of the Lions Club and Oxford Lodge AF & AM, an honorary member of the Uptown Cruisers Car Club, a selectman for the Town of Poland and self-appointed mayor of Welchville. He was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting and all three of his older grandkids took the hunter safety course with him. He loved old cars, restoring and collecting them. He was a lemons-to-lemonade person.

He is survived by his wife, the former Christine Piper, whom he married on August 4, 2000; his mother of West Paris; his children, Carol Foster and husband, Rick, of Otisfield, Kelsey Brooks of Bethel, Wendy Dow and husband, C.J., of Brooksville and Matt Leach of Bethel; grandchildren, Maisey, Mav and Avry Griffins, all of Bethel, Bode and Evan Leach of Bethel, Adrianna, Karleigh, Greydin and Matilynn Twitchell, all of Otisfield, Ick-Man Foster of Otisfield, Caleb Wilson of Norway, Autumn and Cameron Brooks of Bethel and Zack Dow of Brooksville; his brother, Ron and partner, Melissa, of Bangor; his sister, Natalie Morse and partner, Willie White, of Oakland; and many nieces and nephews.
