I was reading the Sun Journal recently and was pleased to read that Oxford County officials voted to give their Sheriff’s Department deputies a raise in pay. They certainly deserve it.

Every morning, when they go to work, they never know what idiot they might run into who has a loaded gun and no respect for human life.

The deputies do their best to protect the public from criminals roaming the countryside.

I have a very sincere respect for those deputies and appreciate their being here.
