ROXBURY — Selectmen set minimum bids Tuesday night for two of three tax-acquired properties that are less than an acre each.
Board of Selectmen Chairman John Sutton said the two camp lots are on Main Street just beyond the boat launch for Roxbury Pond. One is 0.14 of an acre; the other is 0.23 of an acre.
The smaller of the two has a minimum bid of $5,000. It is 50 by 110 feet.
The other lot, which is 50 by 200 feet, has a minimum bid of $3,000.
Tax Collector Renee Hodsdon said the properties will soon be advertised in local newspapers. Bids will require a 10 percent cash deposit and must be received at the Town Office by July 24.
The third tax-acquired property will be offered to its former owner at the cost of back taxes and attorney fees, which Sutton said is $2,284.43. Should the woman decide not to buy it back, the board will place it out to bid.
