Good Food Council receives $3,000 grant
LEWISTON — The Good Food Council of Lewiston-Auburn (GFCLA) recently received a $3,000 grant from the Rural Grants Fund, Dick Kendall Fund for Androscoggin County and Lawrence P. Ralston Fund of the Maine Community Foundation.
The support will be used to increase the GFCLA Coordinator’s hours and to enhance the Council’s outreach and education activities.

SeniorsPlus, Alzheimer’s Association announce support group
LEWISTON — SeniorsPlus and the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter is announcing a new support group for those in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia disorder.
This support group offers information, support and an opportunity to socialize with others who have the same diagnosis.

How to find peace during tragedy explored at Lifetree
LEWISTON — Lifetree Café will host an event on how to find peace in the midst of unexpected tragedy at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at 1919 Lisbon Road in Lewiston.
The program, titled “When Everything Goes Wrong, Where Is God?” includes a filmed interview with Denise Lauerman, a woman who coped with the death of two children and her husband. In the midst of sadness and brokenness, Lauerman says she feels peace.
Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Snacks and beverages are available.
