1923 – 2015

AUBURN — Bertrand A. Morin, 91, of 200 Stetson Road, Auburn, died on Friday, June 26, at Clover Manor health care facility with his loving family by his side following a short illness.

He was born in Auburn on Aug. 22, 1923, the son of the late Pierre and Irma Morin and had been a resident of this community all of his life. He was educated in Lewiston schools.

He married Georgette T. Morin on Sept. 27, 1947; she died on Oct. 19, 1998.

Bertrand was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II from Jan. 18, 1943, to Jan. 12, 1946.

He was employed as a bulldozer operator for Alfred Dumais Excavation and later, as a foreman for Neil’s Bakery Products Transportation until his retirement.

He was a member of the American Legion and a parishioner of Holy Family Church.

Bertrand enjoyed playing bingo and cards with his friends at Meadowview. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by two sons, Larry Morin and his wife, Marlene, of Auburn, and Daniel Morin and his wife, Angelique, of Utah; three daughters, Joline Gaumont and her husband, Roland, of Turner, Carol Phinney and her husband, Tim, of Gray, and Connie Durgin and her husband, Brad, of Lewiston; 13 grandchildren, Michael, Lisa, Amy, Steve, Mark, Matthew, Devin, Scott, Shawn, Jon, Sarah, Rick and Angelique; and several great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was predeceased by four brothers and a sister.
