JAY — The three 4th grade classes at Jay Elementary, taught by Donna Labbe, Nancy Anctil, Tammy Deering and Melody Plourde, Ed Tech, made vases with old jars and tissue paper, which looks like stained glass when applied to the jars.
Another day, they made tissue paper flowers to put in the vases. Then, finally, each student colored pictures.
On June 16th, they all headed to the Pinewood Terrace Nursing Home in Farmington. The 4th graders did the Pledge of Allegiance and then performed several songs, conducted by music teacher Dan Labonte.
Finally, they passed out the vases with flowers and the pictures. The residents were all very happy, and the students felt good about themselves for doing such a wonderful community service.
