WILTON — Police said a Portland man was charged with criminal mischief after he punched a hole in a glass door at KeyBank on Wednesday morning.
Robert Lavanway, 22, went to the Main Street bank about 8:57 a.m., Wilton police officer Ethan Kyes said. Lavanway tried to take funds from his wife’s account, but the clerk couldn’t give him the money because he was not listed on the account. He left but not before he punched the door, the officer said.
Kyes and officer Derek Dailey caught up with Lavanway on Route 2 near the bowling alley.
“He had a huge gash on his forearm,” Kyes said.
Police gave a court summons to Lavanway, who said he intended to go to the hospital, Kyes said.
