Society offers antique appraisals
CASCO — The Raymond-Casco Historical Museum will host Harry W. Hepburn III to appraise antiques at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 11, on Route 302.
The charge for admission is a donation to RCHS of $5 per appraised item.
Hepburn has been a notable and well respected full time antiques dealer since 1971 and has been working on antique clocks since 1968. He is a licensed and bonded auctioneer and appraiser of antiques and personal property since 1977. He is well recognized throughout New England as an authority on early clocks, period furniture and their accessories. Harry is on the Board of Directors of the Maine Antique Dealers Association, and he is also the President of the Maine Chapter of the National Clock and Watch Collectors Association.

Public dance set for July 11
NEW GLOUCESTER — A public dance will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at the Amvet Post 6 Hall.

IHM Golden Age Club to picnic
LEWISTON — IHM Golden Age Club will have its annual picnic at Tabors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14.
Reservations must be made by Sunday, July 12.
In the event of rain, the picnic will be held in the Sacred Heart Church hall. New members 50 and old are welcome.

Make dilly beans at workshop
LISBON FALLS — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will teach how to make dilly beans at its Preserving the Harvest workshop from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at the UMaine Extension office, 24 Main St., Lisbon Falls.
Extension food preservation staff member Kate McCarty will lead the workshop, which features hands-on, USDA-recommended food preservation methods, including hot water bath canning. Participants can take home the dilly beans they make. Fresh produce, canning jars and other canning equipment will be provided. Participants should bring a potholder.
Cost is $20 per person; partial scholarships are available. Register online by July 13.

Church announces guest speaker
AUBURN — Dr. Julie Caton, psychologist, author, Biblical scholar and inspirational speaker, will present a seminar from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at the Court Street Baptist Church.
“Blessings from Paradise” is an interactive discussion based on the first three chapters of Genesis.
