For the governor of our state to stand up in front of 200 boys and say he would like to “shoot” someone because that person disagrees with him is criminal.

What an irresponsible message to give to young people, especially in this day of tragic random shootings.

Asking the governor to apologize to the person mentioned is one small step in the right direction; asking the forgiveness of the voters in this state for being an inflammatory bully is more like it. But most important would be for LePage to go back to those boys and tell them he was completely wrong in saying such a thing.

Tell them violence is never the answer. Tell them public disagreement is allowed in this country without threat of revenge, and is indeed one of the most noble things about it.

LePage needs to undo the damage he’s done to those impressionable young boys, and do so in person.
