1943 – 2015
AUBURN — Raymond “Ray” E. Thomas Sr., 71, of Auburn passed away at home on Tuesday, July 7.
He was born on Nov 4, 1943, to Francis and Ruth (Millet) Thomas in Oxford.
Ray lived a life where he enjoyed tinkering on old cars (collected a few), as a hunter (never shot or saw a deer), and of course, fishing. He always had a story or two to tell. He was also known by many as “the bus driver” at the YMCA of Auburn and as a truck driver at LA United Grocers.
Ray is survived by his children, son, Raymond E Thomas Jr. of Lewiston; daughter, Wendy Thomas-Blais of Auburn; and many grandchildren, nephews, nieces and great-grandchildren, as well as extended family.
Grandpa Ray, “Dad” or Ray, was always up for a cookout, and he will be missed by all.
