1959 – 2015
WATERVILLE — Rachel Mary (Charette) Begin, 56, passed away July 8 at Mount Saint Joseph in Waterville, surrounded by family.
She was born May 26, 1959 in Hartford, Conn., the daughter of Henry James and Adrienne (Gauvin) Charette. On June 14, 1980, she was married to Russell Begin at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Lewiston.
In May, 1981, Rachel received a bachelor of science degree in management from Thomas College in Waterville. Rachel was employed as sales representative at CL Swanson Corporation in Jonesboro, Ark., and at Smith Office Supply in Memphis, Tenn.
She was a patron of community theater, music and arts, and a classroom volunteer at Oakland schools. Rachel loved Maine’s coast, lakes and mountains, and especially her time with family at camp.
Rachel is survived by her husband, Russell Begin of Oakland; daughter, Kayla Begin of Oakland; father, Henry Charette of Lewiston; mother, Adrienne (Gauvin) Charette of Rogers, Ark.; brothers, Michael Charette and wife, Phyllis, of Rogers, Ark., Robert Charette and wife, Vanessa, of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Brenda Santoro and husband, John, of Portland, Theresa Corriveau and husband, Michael, of Somonauk, Ill., Jacqueline Quinn and husband, John, of Memphis, Tenn.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Patricia Begin of Oakland; brother-in-law, Randall Begin of Waterville; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Viles and husband, David, of Oakland, Angela Parent and husband, Joseph, of Camden; special friends, Doris Gallarneau of Lewiston, Joan Swanton of Augusta, and Colleen Begin of Alexandria, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to extend special thanks to the staff at Mount Saint Joseph for their exceptional care.
