Pickleball Clinic
OXFORD — Come and learn how to play pickleball, one of the fastest growing sport in the country. Although it is similar to tennis, since the court is smaller, there is no overhand serving, and people usually play doubles. There will be a pickleball clinic at Pismo Beach in Oxford on Saturday, July 18th, from 6-8 p.m. with the rain date set for July 25. The clinic is open to residents of the Oxford Hills and there is no charge. All equipment is provided but bring your own sneakers to wear. Lewiston wins District 5 Title
The 9-10 year old Lewiston Little League team defeated Hall-Dale 14-4 to capture the District 5 Title on July 8. Mike Dymkoski had three RBI in the victory while Cooper St. Hilaire, Miles Fernette and Matt Connor had a pair. Zack Bean and Chase McKeen each drove in a run in the victory.
Maine Field Hockey Association’s Festival
On Saturday, July 25 the Maine Field Hockey Association will host a Festival at Thomas College in Waterville from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. as 40 teams take part in round robin games. At noon, there will be a Senior East-West All-Star game. The proceeds from this event will be donated to the Center for Grieving Children.
