1940 – 2015

SCARBOROUGH — Artist and musician Norma Lee Spinney of Georgetown passed away Tuesday, July 14, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was involved in many art and music organizations, including Maine Blues Society, where she served as secretary and board member. She was a member of the Bath Municipal Concert Band and the Hallowell Concert Band, playing percussion in both ensembles. She played a drum kit/vocals with the 50/50 Blues Band and her four-piece band, Lavender Blue, up until her death. Her Lavender Blue band produced a music CD in 2013 and will soon release a new one in 2015.

Norma is survived by her son, David Spinney of Georgetown; and her daughter, Sharon Hardy of Glen Gardner, N.J.; as well as many other beloved family and dear friends.
