AUBURN — A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. arrived Sunday to examine all aspects of the Lewiston-Auburn 911 Emergency Communications System’s policy and procedures, management, operations and support services, according to a news release from Director Phyllis Gamache.
Verification by the team that Lewiston-Auburn 911 meets the commission’s state-of-the-art standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation, which is a highly prized recognition of public safety professional excellence, she said.
As part of the on-site assessment, agency personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments by telephone. The public may call 207-754-3816 or 207-754-3901 on Monday, July 20, between 1 and 4 p.m.
Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA standards.
Written comments should be sent to The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc., 13575 Heathcote Blvd., Suite 320, Gainesville, VA 20155, Attn: Stephen Mitchell.
For more information, contact Gamache at 786-5380.
