BETHEL — Carl J. Gallant, 85, joined his wife, Ruth, in heaven on Saturday, July 18. He resided in Bethel with his son, Peter.
Born in Rumford on July 30, 1929, he was a son of John P. and Mary Ann (Pineau) Gallant. He was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford.
He worked in the steam plant for Boise Cascade in Rumford until his retirement.
Carl was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior St. Athanasius-St. John Church in Rumford. He was very active in all sports while he was in high school and tried out for the Boston Red Sox.
Carl was married to Ruth Campbell.
Survivors include two sons, Peter Gallant and his companion, Mary, of Bethel, and Michael Gallant and his companion, Paula, of Rumford; a daughter, Jean Gallant and her companion, Mike, of Mexico; brother-in-law, Warren Campbell and his wife, Sally, of Mexico; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth; and a son, John “Gleep” Gallant.
