August “Gus” Nelson Misner

1936-2015

August “Gus” Nelson Misner, 78, of Belgrade passed away on July 15, 2015 at the Silver Springs Hospice in Togus, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on Dec. 17, 1936 in Fitchburg, Mass., the son of Horatio and Ellie (Leppala) Misner. He was educated in the schools of Fitchburg, Mass, where he played football, graduating from high school in the class of 1955.

Gus served his country in the US Army from 1955 to 1964, being stationed in the Arctic and was an aide for President Eisenhower. He later became a police officer in Lunenberg, Mass for several years until ill health forced his retirement. He was predeceased by his first wife Audrey Fisk Misner. Later, he married Donna Hinkley. He was a member of the Decker-Simmons American Legion Post #51 in Oakland. Gus enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading his Bible.

He is survived by; his wife Donna Misner of Belgrade; his three sons, David Misner of Leominster, Mass.; Daniel Misner and wife Jan of Skowhegan, Dwight Misner and wife Trish of Hallowell; his daughter, Dawn Misner of Portland; his step daughter, Melinda MacKenzie of Farmington; his two sisters, Susan Miller and husband Donald of Mountville, Penn., Carol-Kay Miller of Tucson, AZ; his aunt, Helen Begin and husband Robert of Atlanta, GA; his five grandchildren, Alivia Misner, Elizabeth Wright and husband James, Hunter Misner, Daniel Misner II, Ashley Misner; and one great grandchild.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the hospice facility at Togus and home hospice nurse Kathie Roy.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 1 to 2 p.m. with funeral services to begin at 2 p.m. at the North Belgrade Baptist Church, 8 Station Rd., Belgrade with Pastor Terry Tiner officiating. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Kingfield. Bruce E. Hall

1959-2015

Bruce E. Hall, 55, formerly of Chesterville, died unexpectedly Friday in Benton. He was born in Farmington, Sept. 11, 1959, a son of Robert and Helen (James) Hall and attended Jay schools. Mr. Hall was a Jack-of-all-trades, and did everything from working with wood to tinkering with mechanics. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his son, Bruce Hall, Jr. “BJ” and his fiancé, Colleen Labrecque of Chesterville; a daughter, Kelly Jo Hall of Benton; his parents of Jay; brothers, Stephen Hall and his wife, Robin and Scott Hall and his wife, Wendy all of Jay; four grandchildren, Taylor, Tymeka, Trevor, and Caitlyn; the mother of his children, Julie Hall and her companion, Chris Becker of Benton; and Bruce’s companion, Shelly Rose, and her family of Jay. He was predeceased by an infant brother, Robert E. Hall, Jr. in 1962.

FARMINGTON – A memorial visitation for Robert E. Bean II, will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 4-6 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 6 p.m. at Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938 with Rev. Bill Meyer officiating. The service will conclude with full military honors provided by Camp Keyes, Augusta.
