1951 – 2015
AUBURN — James A. Guilmet, 63, a resident of Livermore Falls, died Wednesday, July 22, at Hospice House of Androscoggin, following a battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 13, 1951, in Rumford, the son of Louis Augustus Guilmet and Ruby M. (Clemens) Guilmet. He was a graduate of Buckfield High School.
James worked throughout the years as a bus driver, mechanic and snowplow driver. He also worked at Lowe’s Garage in Sumner.
James was a member of the Down East Country Music Association. He enjoyed fishing, but his greatest joy was singing, and he attended competitions on the East Coast.
He is survived by his fiancée, Brenda Brown of Livermore Falls; his son, James Guilmet Jr. of Auburn; adopted son, Patrick Libby and his wife, Michelle, of Jay; four stepchildren; and 20 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents.
