1928 – 2015
LEWISTON — Marguerite J. Schutt, 87, of Laud Street, Lewiston, died Saturday, July 25, with her family by her side at Central Maine Medical Center.
She was born in Lewiston March 6, 1928, a daughter of Adelard and Alma Jacques Gervais and was dearly loved and raised by Donat and Alma Francoeur Chouinard. She graduated from Lisbon High School in the Class of 1945 and attended Acme Business College.
Marguerite was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Family Church and operated a home day care.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, taking trips up north and especially watching the deer in her back yard.
She will be remembered for her strong faith in God and being known as everyone’s Memere Schutt.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Ouellette and husband, Robert, Elizabeth Audet and husband, Russell, all of Lewiston, and Katheleen Cote of Bristol, Conn. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Teri Marin; grandchildren, Shannon and Ryan Ouellette, Nick and Christian Cote and Kelsi and Joelle Schutt; great-grandchildren, Zac and Hannah Ouellette; and nieces and a nephew.
She was predeceased by her son, Michael, May 2, 2003; and her sisters, Cecile and Grace.
The family would like to thank the staff at d’Youville Pavilion Nursing Home and CMMC for the care of our mother.
