1933 – 2015

AUBURN — Pauline M. Langlais, 82, of Sumner died late Monday afternoon, July 27, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.

She was born on Jan. 21, 1933, in Lynn, Mass., a daughter of, James and Laura (Powers) Flynn. She attended parochial school, graduating from St. Mary’s in Lynn, Mass.

On Aug. 27, 1955, she married Felix Langlais in Lynn, Mass., where they made their home and she worked tirelessly as a loving homemaker to her family.

Pauline and Felix retired to the Oxford Hills in 1994, living for some time in South Paris before settling in Sumner.

She was a longtime communicant of St. Catherine of Sienna in Norway and enjoyed the fellowship of others at church.

Pauline loved being in the outdoors and her favorite outdoor recreational activity was snowmobiling, which she often did with her husband over the years. She also enjoyed the company of her family, especially her grandchildren, and hiking with friends when she was able.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Felix of Sumner; five children, Helena Hermon and her husband, Glen, of Derry, N.H., Joey Langlais of South Paris, Tommy Langlais and his wife, Donna, of Lynn, Mass., Jeannine Gentleman and her husband, Joe, of Peabody, Mass., and Mary Garuti and her wife, Mary Beth Simpkins, of Otisfield; four grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Flynn of the Philippines and Gene Flynn of Derry, N.H.; and a sister, Lorraine Cameron of Londonderry, N.H.

She was predeceased by four siblings.
