FARMINGTON — A service of thanksgiving for the life of Rudolph A. “Rudy” Stanzel Jr. was held Saturday morning, July 25, at 11 a.m. at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, (Routes 2 and 27) Farmington, with the Rev. Douglas Walrath of the Fairbanks Union Church officiating. Joining him in the reading of Scripture and with an opening prayer was the Rev. John Macfarlane.

The Old Testament Reading, Psalm 121, was recited by Kyle Stanzel, followed by Nick Rosati, leading the congregation in reciting Psalm 23. Sue Downes-Borko, the pianist and soloist, offered prelude and postlude music and sang “Precious Lord.” The Gospel lesson was John 14:1-3 and 25-27. The congregation sang “Amazing Grace,” followed by tributes and remembrances offered by John Stanzel, William Stanzel, Brittany Stanzel and Katie Rosati. The Prayer of Thanksgiving was The Lord’s Prayer.

Following services, all were welcomed to the Fairbanks School Meetinghouse for a comfort reception.
