Mexico Class of ’58 to meet

RUMFORD — Mexico High School Class of 1958 will meet for class luncheon at Dick’s Restaurant at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20.

Spouses and significant others are welcome.

Maddie’s Run is Aug. 22

RANGELEY — The fourth annual Maddie’s Run will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, starting at the Logging Museum, 221 Stratton Road.

Cost is $20 per rider and $10 per passenger. Registration is at 8 a.m.

There will be a cookout, raffles and 50/50. Ride T-shirts will be available to purchase.

The ride is hosted by Widows Sons Mountain Chapter and Masonic Riders Association.

Proceeds will benefit Shriners Hospital, the Widows and Orphan Funds, and Western Maine Community Action.

Club holding 3 Gun Shoot

HARRISON — The Western Maine Fish and Game Club will hold a 3 Gun Shoot at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Club Range on Rt. 11 past the Transfer Station.

Participants must provide their own rifle, handgun, shotgun and ammunition, including extra in case of a shoot off.

Each shooter will shoot five shots on the rifle range, five shots on the handgun range and 25 shots on the trap field.

The top prize will be a Stevens Model 320 12-gauge pump shotgun with 18- and 28-inch barrels. Other prizes are available. The winner of the shotgun must pass a background check in order to claim prize.

The entry fee is only $30. Rain date is Aug. 30. Refreshments will be available.

Oxford Democrats to host barbecue

BRYANT POND — The Oxford County Democrats will hold its annual summer barbecue fundraiser Sunday, Aug. 23, at the University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center on Lake Christopher. Bangor City Councilman Joe Baldacci and former state Sen. Emily Cain, candidates for Maine’s 2nd Congressional District, will attend.

The event will begin with a social time on the waterfront followed by a dinner of hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, salads and dessert. Remarks by guests, and Democratic officeholders will follow. Tickets for the event are $20 per person, and may be reserved by calling 207-875-2116, or by emailing info@oxforddems.org.

OSACC participates in food program

OXFORD — Oxford SACC has announced its participation in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Meals are available at no separate charge to all enrolled participants without regard to race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender identity, religion, reprisal, and where applicable, political beliefs, marital status, familial or parental status, sexual orientation, or all or part of an individual’s income is derived from any public assistance program, or protected genetic information in employment or in any program or activity conducted or funded by the Department.

Gingerbread House windows updated

NORWAY — The Friends of the Gingerbread House seek sponsors at $500 each to completely rehabilitate and re-install 22 windows in the house. Ten windows have already been updated thanks to generosity of donors.

A special Donor Tour and Reception will be offered on Saturday, Sept. 5, and again on Saturday, Oct. 3, for those who sponsor windows. A display will be set up in the Kiosk to recognize these sponsors.
