VIENNA — Do you have an ancestor who was active in supporting the Revolutionary War?

If so, you are eligible to join the Daughters of the American Revolution. Your ancestor did not have to be in the Continental Army or part of a militia, as there were many other ways to serve the new nation.

The Vienna Historical Society will sponsor a program in which one can learn more about the amazing history of the DAR’s dedication to historical preservation, promotion of education, and encouragement of patriotic endeavor. You will discover resources available for tracing your Revolutionary patriot ancestors through the vast holdings of the DAR Library. See what the DAR is doing to remain relevant in today’s world, and what it contributes to our community.

This most interesting program will be presented by Colonial Daughters Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, Farmington, Maine, and will be held Saturday, Aug. 22nd at 2 p.m. at the Mill Stream Grange hall in Vienna. There is no charge and all are welcome. For more information please call 293-4815.
