I recently read a letter to the editor from James Parakilas (July 22) in which he wrote that Gov. Paul LePage has no “moral integrity.” I could not agree with him more and would like to shake his hand.

For the past several years, I have gagged almost every day over LePage’s antics — from hiding the workers’ pictures to his many insults and bullying of individuals who disagree with him, to abusing his power and threatening elected representatives and senators. The list goes on and on, but I am especially upset over another recent abuse of power.

The voters of Maine passed two conservation measures (in 2012 and 2013) for Maine and Maine’s future. Gov. LePage has refused to release the bonds, leaving the funds intended for Land for Maine’s Future in limbo. More than 30 conservation projects are being held up because of LePage.

Why? Simply because he isn’t getting his way and is using his power as a tool to get his way, thus sacrificing a valuable program for Maine. He is sacrificing a wonderful program because of a temper tantrum, thumbing his nose at Maine voters and the environment.

The public needs to get involved. We cannot let LePage continue such foolishness.
