FARMINGTON — Four men accused of breaking into three convenience stores in Franklin County on June 30 and July 1 were indicted by a grand jury Thursday.
Three of them were also indicted on arson charges pertaining to homes in Carthage and Wilton on June 27.
Duane C. Bailey, 27, of Carver, Mass., Einer A. Bonilla, 21, of Grand Island, Neb., Devon Pease, 22, of Jay and D’Kota R. Rowe, 20, of Wilton were each indicted on three felony counts of burglary, a felony count of theft by unauthorized taking and a misdemeanor charge of theft by unauthorized taking. Pease was also indicted on a misdemeanor charge of violation of conditions of release.
The four are accused of breaking into Skoolhouse Variety in Weld during the late hours of June 30, and My Dad’s Place in Jay and Our Village Market in New Vineyard early July 1.
In a separate case, Bailey and Rowe were each indicted on four felony counts of arson in the burning of two homes, one at 9 Sewall St. in Wilton and the other on Winter Hill Road in Carthage.
Pease was also indicted on two counts of felony arson in the Sewall Street fire.
All three were each indicted on a felony count of conspiracy to commit arson, accused of attempting to burn down an apartment building on Main Street in Wilton where 13 people lived, including five children. According to a state fire investigator’s affidavit, Bailey and Rowe had a grudge against a resident in the building.
Bailey is being held on $50,000 cash bail while Pease and Rowe are being held on $25,000 cash bail, all at the Franklin County jail.
