AUBURN — City council at-large candidate Robert A. Sevigny and school committee candidate Faith A. Fontaine both qualified for November’s municipal ballot by Thursday’s deadline.

Both candidates submitted their paperwork just before the clerk’s office closed at 5 p.m. Thursday, the deadline to file nominations.

City Clerk Sue Clements Dallaire said Sevigny was inadvertently left off of the list made public Thursday night.

Fontaine submitted her paperwork before the close of business, but clerk staffers were not able to verify her petition signers as valid residents until Friday morning.

Sevigny joins a long list of candidates seeking the at-large seats on the city council. He challenges incumbents Belinda Gerry and David Young as well as Grady R. Burns and Robert C. Mennealy.

Fontaine joins three other candidates seeking two open at-large school committee seats; incumbent Brent M. Bilodeau, John B. Carney and Lawrence B. Pelletier.

All 15 seats on the city council and school committee are open on the Nov. 3 ballot.
