1956 – 2015

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Gerard N. Dumond “Mr. Miyagi,” 58, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital.

A longtime Maine resident, he was born in Lewiston on Dec. 27, 1956, the son of Norman and Noella V. Dumond and was educated in Lewiston schools, graduating in 1975. He worked for the city of Lewiston Water and Sewer Division for 25 years.

He was a member of local snowmobile clubs and was a longtime member of the Pastime Club.

Gerry spent many years relaxing on his boat with friends at the Causeway Marina. He enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, fishing and riding his Harley-Davidson. Our dad will be remembered for his heart and willingness to always help others in need. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Survivors include a son, Jeremy of Littleton, Colo.; daughter, Amber Emond and her husband, Joey, of Wales; and two grandchildren, Brynn and Brody Emond. He also held a special place in his heart for Peggy Dumond; and her two daughters, Nicole Gervais and Jessica Godin.

He was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Dumond.

The family wishes to thank his many caregivers and all his friends who’ve loved and supported him over the years.
