BIDDEFORD (AP) — Police in Maine say an 81-year-old man and five others were injured after he drove his minivan through the window of a Dunkin’ Donuts store.

The Portland Press Herald reported (http://bit.ly/1NRvHVK ) the driver has been identified by authorities as Anthony Canario of Saco. The crash happened Saturday morning on Spruce Street in Biddeford.

Biddeford police say the vehicle went about 20 feet into the restaurant.

Owner Steve Sparangis says the coffee shop was filled with customers at the time of the crash. He says a table stopped the minivan from hitting a customer.

Emergency responders say six people, including the driver and a passenger, were taken to local hospitals with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Deputy Chief JoAnne Fisk says the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
