1928 – 2015
NORWAY — Doris A. (Strout) Gagne of Mechanic Falls went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 1, after a short illness.
She was born in Concord, Mass., on Feb. 18, 1928, the daughter of Winslow and Gladys Grant Strout. Doris moved to Poland in 1945. She received her teacher’s certificate from the University of Maine at Farmington and taught at Poland schools.
After her marriage to Frederick H. Gagne on March 16, 1946, Doris became a homemaker, giving birth to five children.
Doris is survived by her husband of Mechanic Falls; three children, Frederick Gagne Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Mechanic Falls, Irene Gagne and her companion, Brian Pelletier, of Mechanic Falls, and Paulette Tripp and her companion, Richard W. Jackson Jr., of Mechanic Falls; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jennie Ganiel of Harrington.
She was predeceased by her son, Stephen J. Gagne; her daughter, Carolyn L. Braid; a grandson, David Gagne; and a great-grandson, William Milligan.
