FARMINGDALE — Connor Samson collected a pair of goals for St. Dom’s as the Saints battled to a 3-3 double overtime tie in a strikingly offensive game with Hall-Dale in boys’ soccer action Saturday afternoon.

The first half was realatively quiet, but for a Ryan Fitzgerald goal to put the Bulldogs (0-0-1) up by one at the half.

Gavin Bates complemented Samson’s two goals with one of his own to round out the scoring for the Saints (0-0-1).

Goalie Alex Michaud made one save for St. Dom’s, while goalie Andy Peterson was busy in net for Hall-Dale with 15 saves in the contest.

Telstar 5, Dirigo 0

BETHEL — Avery Griffin netted an impressive four goals to lead Telstar to a 5-0 shutout victory over Dirigo in boys’ soccer action Saturday afternoon.

Zack Stone scored the first goal of the contest on a penalty kick in the first half. With a light adjustment, the Rebels turned up the tempo with four consecutive goals from Griffin in the second half.

Goalie Tanner Wheeler was solid in goal for Telstar, making eight saves for the winning effort.

Lewiston 4, Brewer 2

LEWISTON — Abdizis Shaleh netted the eventual game-winning goal to lead Lewiston to a 4-2 victory over Brewer in KVAC boys’ soccer action Saturday evening.

With 14 minutes remaining in regulation, midfielder Kyle St.Thomas brought Witches (0-1) to within one point, 3-2, by flicking the ball from six-yards out into the top of the back of the net.

Abdi Shariff provided an inusrance goal down the stretch for the Blue Devils (1-0).

Goalie Jonathan Wood made 15 saves for Brewer, while senior goalie Austin Wing earned the win in net for Lewiston with just four deflections.

Lisbon 9, Oak Hill 2

LISBON — Josh Huston scored two goals and had two assists and Austin Bedford added another two as Lisbon rolled over Oak Hill 9-2 in a boys’ soccer game Saturday.

The Greyhounds (1-0) reeled off six goals in the second half. Bradley Boulet, Troy Garlarneau, Ryley Austin and Steve Martin each scored a goal.

For Oak Hill, Andrew Dave and Kyle Beauparlant scored.

Yarmouth 9, Poland 0

YARMOUTH — Matthew Dostie scored a hat trick as Yarmouth sailed to a 9-0 shutout victory over Poland in boys’ soccer action Saturday evening.

The Clippers (1-0) crushed the Knight’s (0-1) defense in the first half with eight goals, Jonathan Groothoff managed a pair of goals in the stanza.

Ben Wight back peddled much of the game, defending Poland from an unrelenting attack and adding even more scores to Yarmouth’s tally.

Girls’ soccer

St. Dom’s 3, Hall-Dale 0

FARMINGDALE — Three different players scored and Tori Sassé made eight saves as St. Dom’s outran Hall-Dale 3-0 in a season-opening girls’ soccer game on Saturday. Avery Lutrzykowski and Julia Masters staked the Saints (1-0) to a 2-0 at the half, with Alexandre Hammerton earning an assist on Lutrzykowski’s strike.

Kristina Cornelio added the visitors’ third goal early in the second half on a thorw-in from Lutrzykowski to put the game out of reach. Maggie Gross suffered the loss in net for the Bulldogs (0-1).

Brunswick 3, Mt. Blue 1

FARMINGTON — Junior striker Kira Wolpow scored a pair of second half goals to lead Brunswick to a 3-1 victory over Mt. Blue in KVAC girls’ soccer action Saturday afternoon.

Junior halfback Nathalie Pierce converted a relay from sohpomore forward Jocelyn Daggett to score the first goal of the game for the Cougars (0-1).Goalie Addie Schanz made six saves for Mt. Blue, including a pair of spectacular ones in the final minutes. Goalies Maddie Brescia and Beth Labbe combined for 16 saves for the Dragons (1-0) in the winning effort.

Brewer 3, Lewiston 2

BREWER — Maria Low scored the game-winning goal with just over two minutes remaining in regulation to lift Brewer to a 3-2 victory over Lewiston in girls’ soccer action Saturday afternoon.

Kristina Blais scored both of the Blue Devils goals, one in each half. The first goal was assisted by Adela Kililwa.

Goalie Kelsey St.Cyr made six saves for Lewiston, while goalie Mikayla Henderson turned back five to earn the win in net for Brewer.

Bangor 6, Oxford Hills 0

PARIS — Erynne Sauda and Libby Spekhart tabulated two goals each as Bangor cruised to a 6-0 blanking over Oxford Hills in girls’ soccer action Saturday evening.

The Rams scored three goals in each half, and compiled 18 shots to the Vikings three for an impressive offensive start to the season.

Goalies Sam Bickford and Krystin Paine combined for 12 saves for Oxford Hills, while goalie Emily Gilmore prevented three to earn the win in net for Bangor.

Kennebunk 3, Poland 0

POLAND — Lindsey Gregoire hit the first two goals of the game to lift Kennebunk to a 3-0 victory over Poland in field hockey action Saturday afternoon.

rittany Gregoire added a goal for affect with 32 seconds remaining in regulation to give the Rams (2-0) three goals in the shutout. Goalie Ashley Cloutier made 11 saves for the Knights (0-2), while Liv Kudas repelled all eight shots she faced to earn the win in net for Kennebunk.

UMF 3, Framingham State 0

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Sophomore LeeAnne Greenleaf recorded her first two career goals on Saturday as the University of Maine at Farmington notched a 3-0 victory over Framingham State in College field hockey action.

Greenleaf put the Beavers on top 2-0 early in the second half on a penalty corner feed from Sarita Crandall of Farmington.

UMF tallied its’ final goal of the game three minutes later when Emmah Spahr of Winthrop charted her first goal of the season with another Crandall assist.

Cross Country

UMF’s Hollis leads the way

BANGOR, — University of Maine at Farmington sophomore Robert Hollis of Auburn led the men’s cross country team to a second place finish at the 2015 Husson Invitational on Saturday.

Hollis placed second in the 5k race with an overall time of 28:10:5 and averaged nearly an event-best 5:40:1 mile. Conor Wagner  also grabbed a top five spot by crossing the line at 28:23:5 in the fourth spot. Kadir Hassan of Lewiston came in 34th.
