NORWAY — The community is invited to celebrate the year of growing food, youth leaders, community supported agricultural shares and community building at the Alan Day Community Garden, Saturday, Sept. 12.

The day will begin with a free Garden to Gourmet Cooking Workshop from 10 a.m. to noon. Everyone is welcome to join the delicious and fun cooking class with gourmet caterers Anna Sysko and Kim Hamlin.

Following class, the Potluck Harvest Party will celebrate the harvest season from noon to 2 p.m., where visitors can see the beautiful gardens and enjoy connecting with others, creating a healthier community together.

A Food Forest work party will go on throughout the day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to see and help cultivate the fruit and nut trees, berries and perennial plants that will be producing food in the future.

The Alan Day Community Garden is located at 26 Whitman St., just down the street from Ari’s Pizza.
