SUMNER — Tuell Hill Road will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the intersection of Redding Road for the replacement of Twin Bridge.

The shutdown will last about one month, according to local officials.

Voters were told at the annual town meeting in August 2014 that the bridge over the West Branch Nezinscot River is not state-approved because it’s one lane and the guardrails are not in good condition.

Town Clerk Susan Runes said voters approved a $200,000 bond to replace it.

Replacing the Redding Road culvert was not included in the bond, Runes said.

N.F. Luce Inc. of Anson was awarded the contract for the bridge replacement.
