PITTSFIELD, N.H. — Myrtle B. Howes, 92, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Concord Hospice House in Concord, N.H.
Myrtle was born in Stratton on Nov. 6, 1922, a daughter of Oramendal and Bertha Blanchard and lived there until 1946. She later moved to Portland, Hampton Bays and Long Island before moving to Berlin, N.H., in 1965, where she was employed as a teacher by the Berlin School System from 1965 to 1984. Myrtle moved to Hopkinton in 1998, and most recently, has been a resident of Pittsfield, N.H. She was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Berlin, the Berlin Teachers Association, the National Education Association and the Rebekahs.
Family members include her three sons, Randall Howes of Virginia Beach, Va., Richard Howes of Pittsfield, N.H., and Robert Howes of Newbury, N.H.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, including her nephew, Edwin Durrell of Indiana.
She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Howes.
