PERU — A small number of residents voted Sept. 1 to put a 1999 dump truck out to bid, secretary Angela Barkhouse said Tuesday.
“We figured that the town wouldn’t have a problem with it, which is why so few people showed up,” she said.
Road Commissioner Joe Roach said at a previous meeting that the Ford F-550’s trade-in value was $7,500, while it retails for around $10,000.
He said the truck is being sold “as is” and “where is.” It can be viewed during daylight hours at the Peru Road Department Garage at 85 Peru Center Road.
