FARMINGTON — A review panel for Teacher of the Year candidates will visit Academy Hill School in Wilton on Sept. 29, Principal Keith Acedo told the school board Tuesday.
Fourth-grade teacher Brenda LaVerdiere is one of the three candidates in the running for the title of 2016 Teacher of the Year. The winner is expected to be announced in October.
The panel will visit “Brenda’s classroom and meet with various groups,” Acedo said.
The groups will be students, parents, community members, board members, teachers and administration.
LaVerdiere has taught for 38 years and was named the 2016 Franklin County Teacher of the Year in May.
