OTISFIELD — The Otisfield Historical Society will held its third public meeting of 2015 on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Old Town House, 53 Bell Hill Road, Otisfield. Manoush, a specialist in food science and safety, is now president of Manoush Associates. Before launching his own company, he worked as quality manager for B&G Foods, which produces the well-known B&M baked beans.
He will combine his interest in history with his training in food science to describe what our diets were like before the scientific and industrial revolutions of the 1800s, showing how man has discovered ever more ingenuous ways to keep food from spoiling. He will also look at the newest preservation methods.
