Women’s club hosting yard, food sale
LIVERMORE — The Livermore and Livermore Falls Historical Society and the GFWC’s Livermore Falls Women’s Club will hold an annual yard and food sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18 and 19, at the common on Crash Road.
Wood Carvers hosting annual wood-carving show
AUGUSTA — The Maine Wood Carvers Association will host its annual wood-carving show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Buker Community Center, 22 Armory St.
The show is open to wood carvers of all genres including realistic bird carvings, decoys, wildlife, caricatures, chip carving, relief carvings, chain saw carvings, wood turning and intarsia. All wood carvers are allowed to enter their art in the competition.
The featured carver this year is Erwin Flewelling, who has written six instructional books on bird carving.
There will be a carving competition, vendor booths, carving tool sales, wood sales and raffles. The event is open to the public. The cost of admission is $4.
Masonic Lodge hosting supper
NEW SHARON — The Mason Lodge will host a supper and “Gift-A-Rama” at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, as its annual fundraiser for Messalunskit No. 170 Eastern Star.
The supper will include a homemade pie and beverage for $8, followed by a gift raffle and pie auction.

Church hosting chicken pie supper
HARRISON — Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church will host its famous chicken pie supper on Saturday, Sept. 19.
The supper will include chicken pie, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, rolls, homemade dessert and beverages.
The first seating will be at 5 p.m., the second seating at 6. The cost for the supper is $8 for adults, or $4 for children younger than 12. Reservations will be accepted on the day of the event from 9 a.m. to noon by confirmation.
The event is wheelchair accessible.
Finnish American Society to meet
WEST PARIS — The Finnish American Heritage Society of Maine will hold its monthly meeting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 8 Maple St.
Following a short business meeting, Tamara Cohen will present a program about Finland’s love affair with coffee.
The public is invited to attend and share the coffee table.

Senior center hosting barbecue
PERU — The Rumford Senior Center will have its end-of-summer barbecue at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 21.
A choice of a hamburger or a hot dog with chips, salad and dessert will be served. The price is $6 per person. Those planning on attending should call 207-562-7700 to let the center know which they prefer.
