RUMFORD — Callie Sampson netted her second goal of the game with 1:19 left in overtime Monday to give St. Dom’s a 3-2 victory over Mountain Valley in a MVC field hockey tilt.
Erin Lachance also tallied for the Saints to complete the scoring. Chelsea Allison scored both goals for the Falcons (4-1), while Lexy Duguay contributed with assists.
Abby Flonina made seven saves for St. Dom’s, while Alyssa Akers turned aside 10 shots for Mountain Valley.
Telstar 2, Lisbon 1 (2OT)
BETHEL — Becca Howard converted a fine pass from Olivia York just over two minutes into overtime Monday to give Telstar a 2-1 victory over Lisbon in
MVC field hockey action.
Charlotte Mooney gave the Greyhounds (1-4) a 1-0 advantage in the first frame. Octavia Morin tied it up at 1-1 for Lisbon early in the second frame with an assist from Hayley Peterson.
Blair Stevens made an impressive 18 saves for Telstar (2-4), while Mikayila Harnden turned aside 17 shots between the posts for Lisbon.
Leavitt 11, Lincoln Academy 0
LINCLON — Kaitlyn Leclerc, Allie Belaire and Kierstin Leclerc all netted two goals each Monday as Leavitt easily overpowered Lincoln, 11-0, in a KVAC field hockey matchup.
Chantel Eells, Jaelyn Nadeau, Alivia Bubier, Kaitlyn DeBlois and Colleen Mathieu also tallied for the Hornets (4-1) to complete the scoring.
Hailey DeMascio made two saves to preserve the shutout, while Emily Huber turned aside 18 shots between the posts for Lincoln.
Boys’ soccer
St. Dom’s 5, Oak Hill 0
AUBURN — St. Dominic Academy dominated the game offensively from start to finish in their 5-0 victory over Oak Hill in boys’ soccer Monday.
Jacob Charest had two goals and an assist for the Saints as they fired 55 shots on the Oak Hill goal.
Matt Boulet, Gavin Bates and Jeremy Phelan each had a goal.
The Oak Hill Raiders had two shots on goal. The Saints improve to 1-1-1 while Oak Hill falls to 0-4.
