1939 – 2015
EAST WILTON — Janice M. McKeen, 76, of East Wilton died at her residence early Monday morning, Sept. 28, the 11th anniversary of the passing of her husband, Paul.
She was born a twin, May 29, 1939, in Farmington, a daughter of Christopher Medeiros and Gwendolyn Masterman. Janice was a graduate of Wilton Academy, Class of 1957. On Sept. 5, 1959, she married Paul McKeen and made their home in Dixfield before moving to East Wilton in 1988.
Janice worked at Diamond Match in Peru for many years and later worked part time at the Dixfield Grammar School. In the following years, she helped run the family business, Paul’s Pools.
She enjoyed quilting, framing and matting artwork, cross-stitching and sewing, and she had a seasonal campsite at Dummer’s Beach in Weld for a number of years. In earlier years, she enjoyed motorcycling with her husband.
Janice was predeceased by her husband, Paul, who passed on Sept. 28, 2004.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara of East Wilton; a son, Don Mc-Keen and his wife, Roseanne, of Dixfield; her two granddaughters, Lindsay Morales and her husband, Shane, of Garland, and Colette McKeen of Bangor; and her twin sister, Jane Wilkins and her husband, Orman, of Livermore Falls.
