Legion seeking craft fair vendors
SABATTUS — The American Legion Auxiliary in Sabattus will hold its craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7.
Tables are still available. Cost: $15 for a 6-foot table, $20 for an 8-foot table.

Blessing of Animals scheduled
LEWISTON — Animal lovers from around Maine are invited to have their animal companions blessed outdoors in celebration of Saint Francis of Assisi’s Feast Day. All pets are welcome. As prayers are offered, the pets will be gently sprinkled with holy water.
The event will take place at noon Sunday, Oct. 4, outside the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 122 Ash St. In case of rain the event will be held in the lower lobby of the Basilica facing Ash Street.
Pathways annual meeting Oct. 6
AUBURN — Pathways will hold its annual meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 368 Minot Ave.
A light lunch will be served. The public is welcome.
Pine Cone Chapter 26 to meet
AUBURN — The Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.
Past matrons and patrons will be honored.
The meeting will be preceded by a pot luck supper at 6 p.m.
All Eastern Star members are invited.
At the September meeting, Lu Farrington received her life membership certificate.
Mary Ann Perkins received her Rob Morris Jewel from General Grand Chapter by James Owens, associate grand patron.
Danville Grange to meet Oct. 8
DANVILLE — The Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8. The program will be presented by the Legislative Committee, and resolutions for the upcoming session of the Maine State Grange will be discussed.
Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting.
Members are reminded to bring their clipped coupons for the troops.
All grange members and guests are welcome.
AREA to meet
AUBURN — The Androscoggin Retired Educators Association will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Park Avenue United Methodist Church. The hosts for this meeting are Pat and George Jacobs. The cost of the meal is $11.
Every October, AREA holds the annual Scholarship Fundraiser. Members are asked to bring auction items such as baked goods, homemade fudge, fresh garden vegetables, pumpkins, gourds, books, antiques, gift certificates, gift baskets, crafts, or any other items in good repair to the church before 9:45 a.m. and come prepared to bid. All proceeds will help fund the scholarships offered to local high school students planning to go into education.
The group will continue to collect nonperishable food and money for a local food bank.
To become an AREA member, dues are $10 for retired members, $6 for their spouses and free for honorary members 85 or older.
