LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library will host its fourth annual Star War Reads Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, in Callahan Hall on the third floor.
Star Wars Reads Day is a global celebration of books set within or about the beloved science fiction franchise. Interest is expected to be especially high this year, with the upcoming December release of the new film, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
At the event, guests will be able to browse hundreds of Star Wars-related books, ranging from picture books for children to adult paperback bestsellers, graphic novels, e-books and audio books. At craft stations, guests will be able to make their own lightsabers and Jedi robes, character magnets and puppets and other items to take home. Volunteers from ArtVan will provide face painting.
Guests of all ages can arrive in costume. All attendees will be entered in a raffle to win Star Wars books and other prizes. Assorted Star Wars Reads giveaways from participating publishers will be available, including posters and bookmarks.
The event is free.
