NEWRY – The Board of Selectmen on Tuesday will discuss the possibility of installing a new veterans memorial.

The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. in the Town Office.

Deputy Town Clerk Kelly Scott said Monday afternoon that selectmen had discussed the idea of installing updated veterans memorials.

“We already have some memorial plaques for veterans in the yard of the Town Office,” Scott said. “There’s one that lists the name of World War II veterans, and a couple of generic veteran plaques. The selectmen were looking into possibly installing something a little more specific, or something that has the names of all of our town veterans.”

The board will also hear a presentation from Steve Wight and Amy Scott about a local nonprofit organization they are involved with, Scott said.
