BRUNSWICK — Five Rivers Arts Alliance announced that the galleries in Brunswick will host an October art walk from 5 to 8 pm. Friday, Oct. 9. 

The galleries are along Pleasant and Maine streets in Brunswick.  

Summer Studio, 149 Maine St., will open its show of landscape paintings by Chris Reed during the art walk hours. Reed uses oil painting washes to depict Maine landscapes with a special atmospheric effect. Bayview Gallery, also on Maine Street, will be open for the art walk with its display of quality local art.

Frontier, a cafe, cinema and gallery, will host a grand opening for The Heart of Photography Show from 4 to 6 p.m at 14 Maine St. The works of art were selected by world-renowned photojournalist Robert Freson, who has many magazine covers to his credit. including Look, Esquire and National Geographic. Also on display will be works by Felice Boucher, New England Professional Photographers’ Photographer of the Year.

Janet Glatz Fine Art and Points of View galleries on Pleasant Street will both hold art walk receptions Friday evening. 

Spindelworks will show art from its many talented artists at the Merrill Room in the Curtis Library, also on Pleasant Street.
