According to Leeds Fire Chief Glenn Holt, no one was hurt. Owner Larry Hewins, 63, lived alone in the house, which was insured, according to the Kennebec Journal.
The fire is not considered suspicious, according to Holt, but the home will be investigated to determine the cause of the blaze.
A passer-by reported the fire at about 9 a.m. Flames were shooting out the windows, according to the Kennebec Journal’s account.
Firefighters from Monmouth, Greene, Turner and Wales assisted.
